Rajamouli's Eega distribution rights sold for Rs 5 crs

Director SS Rajamouli's latest directorial venture Eega, which features Sudeep, Nani and Samantha in leads, is one of the most-awaited movies of 2012. The multilingual film is expected to get a tremendous  opening at the Box Office, which has created a great demand for its distribution rights. If we are to go by the reports, the theatrical rights of its Tamil version Naan Ee have been sold for a whopping price.
Eega is a sci-fi thriller, which has a universal theme. SS Rajamouli is very familiar with the Tamil audience and his last film Magadheera was a super hit at the Box Office in Tamil Nadu. Moreover, this movie has been creating buzz in the South Indian industry ever since it hit the floor. All these factors have created a great demand for distribution rights of the film, which is being released in three languages.
Sources claim that the distribution rights of Naan Ee have been sold for Rs 5 crore to a Tamil producer. When quizzed about it, producer Sai of Eega admitted selling it to a whopping price, but declined to reveal the exact figure. "We have sold it for a good price, but I can't reveal the amount," a leading English daily quotes him as saying.
However, Telugu movies do not a big market in Tamil Nadu. Even the films of T-town superstars like Mahesh Babu, Jr NTR and Ram Charan Teja have not fetched such a whooping price. With the flick Eega, SS Rajamouli has surpassed all the records and set a new record for himself in the Kollywood.
